Kelsey Jamerson began playing piano at the age of seven. She started by learning different songs through tutorials on her keyboard. After a couple of years of self-instruction, she enrolled in piano lessons and never looked back. Her teachers include Dr. Lise Keiter, Dr. Tonya Menard, and Carol La Porte.
In 2017, she was one of four pianists chosen to perform in the Virginia Symphony Orchestra piano master class with Simone Dinnerstein where she learned more about how to be a professional pianist.
In college, Kelsey was part of the Mary Baldwin University band, where she played the piccolo & flute and studied with Dr. Erin Murphy. She was also a member of the MBU choir, where she toured locally to perform. Kelsey excelled in the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL), which is the only all-female cadet corps in the nation. In the VWIL band, she held the positions of corps drum major & section leader. She graduated from both VWIL & MBU in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with emphasis in piano performance.
Kelsey completed her Master of Music in piano performance degree from Norfolk State University in Fall 2020.
